EverydayLearning.Net centralizes Community Connection for Child Care's (CCCC)special outreach projects and grant programs that promote the philosophy that children learn through everything they experience during the day and doing simple things can make a big difference. EverydayLearning.Net expands parent and caregiver access to information and resources that will help them give children the best possible start in life. The website is designed to assure parents and caregivers that it is easy as and fun as to turn everyday moments into quality early learning moments and that is important because children are born learning.
EverydayLearning.Net's articles and low-cost activities show parents and caregivers that you do not have to be a child development expert or have electronic learning toys and expensive computers to help children gain the skills to be ready for school. Instead, the website shares the message that doing simple things can make a big difference and opportunities for learning "it's easier than you think."
Currently, EverydayLearning.Net features an activity of the month segment, recipes from the Dairy Council of California, Family and Provider Physical Fitness Activity Planners, Food! Fun! Fitness! Newsletter and the 2006 Literacy Calendar produced by CCCC through a grant received by Castle & Cooke. The site also includes links to LittleTravelers.Org, CCCC's car seat safety website and Born Learning. CCCC was selected by the United Way of Kern County to serve as the local contact for this National Campaign.
EverydayLearning.Net is also the home of the Get Ready, Get Set, Get Fit 4 Life! a preventative outreach project designed to help children thrive, by establishing healthy eating and activity habits in the early years. The series extends nutrition and physical activity training, healthy recipes and resources to providers and families.
